sure you get the best deal possible and a terrific cheap Cyprus holiday check
out all three and you could save hundreds of pounds.
Cyprus Holidays Certainly Something to Consider
When it's time for a holiday in the Mediterranean, Cyprus offers much to the
tourist for relaxation and a week or two in the sun.
Located in the eastern Mediterranean, the weather
in Cyprus is great all year round, with sunny summer days and warm enough
for holidays in Cyprus year round. A popular tourist destination, the island
relies on their service economy for growth. The most important service sectors
in the country are tourism, financial services, and real estate.
The third largest island in the Mediterranean, the former British Colony is
now an independent republic, and part of the Commonwealth and the EU. Cyprus
is north of Egypt, south of Turkey, east of Greece, and west of the Middle East.
With a heavy reliance on tourism, Cyprus is a holidays destination that caters
to the tourist looking for a unique R & R experience.
When planning your Cyprus holidays, consider the four most popular regions.
Then make a decision as to what best suits you and your family. The four major
tourist destinations are Limassol, Coral Bay, Ayia Napa, and Larnaca. These
regions offer you a medley of options for organising a classic Cyprus holiday.
Limassol
The second largest city on Cyprus, Limassol is also its largest municipality.
This area is home to a host of activities, museums, and historical sites. Of
course, it's also replete with beautiful beaches, perfect for holidays in Cyprus.
Curium Beach is a relaxing strip with rollicking waves. It's a popular spot
for swimming, sailing, and hang-gliding. Ladies Mile Beach has shallow, clear
water that's excellent for windsurfing. Pissouri Beach has clear warm water
suited for water sports. This beach area has different facilities for water
sports activities.
While in Limassol for your holidays in Cyprus, enjoy horse riding, tennis,
golf, and jet skiing. You can also explore the city's Municipal Gardens. Take
in some culture with trips to places such as Kolossi Castle. Located 10 kilometers
from Limassol, this castle was the central post of the Knights Templar and after
them the Knights Hospitaller. Remnants of a sugar-can factory and aqueduct are
there as well.
Limassol Castle contains the Cyprus Medieval Museum. This museum has exhibits
that highlight the historical evolution of modern Cyprus. It shows the island's
economic, social, and cultural development, customs, and traditions from the
third to the eighteenth century AD.
Limassol holds two festivals annually. One is their Carnival festival, which
takes place six weeks before Easter. They also hold a huge wine festival in
September.
Coral Bay
This region is natural beauty on display and is fantastic for family holidays
in Cyprus - Coral Bay is gorgeous white sand and sparkling clear water.
The waters are soothing, calm, and relaxing. They are home to diverse activities
from good old-fashioned swimming to windsurfing, para-sailing, banana boating,
snorkeling, and jet skiing as well.
Coral Bay is family friendly. It's conducive to winding down and taking in
nature in all its glory. Nearby is the town of Paphos where nighttime music
and entertainment take on a life of their own. However, Coral Bay itself is
not a bustling party community, perfectly suited to that precious rest and relaxation
that's an important part of holidays in Cyprus.
There are several different stretches of beach and tavernas on the beaches.
These are for renting water sports equipment. In addition, the tavernas serve
simple fare to beachgoers. This bay area is where some of Cyprus' best residential
property resides, sitting on hills overlooking the bay.
And Coral Bay is an excellent location for villa

Ayia Napa
This area of the island also makes taking a cheap Cyprus holiday worthwhile.
It is a resort area at the far eastern end of the south coast. Ayia Napa has
a reputation for exquisite beaches. Characteristic of the beaches here are the
clean, clear, and shallow waters. The water is also warm from spring to autumn,
which means the beaches are focal points for numerous water sport activities.
Ayia Napa is also about scintillating and entertaining evenings in lively clubs.
Holiday companies offer cheap Cyprus holidays to this region. Young people certainly
take advantage of this so they can enjoy these clubs well into the wee hours
of the morning. However, if you're looking for Cyprus holidays of the quieter
family sort, another region of the island is probably better, and a look at
a map of Cyprus is worthwhile.
In Ayia Napa, you have the option of choosing from beachfront hotels or apartments.
They offer dynamic views of the waterfront and add to the exoticness of a Cyprus
holiday. In addition, the area is resplendent with diverse cultural food offerings
in the various restaurants.
Of interest in this area of the island is The Monastery of Ayia Napa. The Venetians
built this monastery in 1570. It has the distinction of being the best known
landmark in Ayia Napa.
Larnaca
Larnaca on the southern coast is close to Larnaca International Airport outside
the city, and the island's largest airport. Larnaca has several beaches in and
around its environs. Phinikoudes and McKenzie beaches, their main ones, have
both received Blue Flags awards for environmental cleanliness. The beaches in
this region have a myriad of hotels and apartment accommodation available for
holidays in Cyprus.
The premier historical site of Larnaca is the ruins of Ancient Kitium, which
draws hordes of tourists each year. The earliest architectural remains are from
the 13th century B.C. Ancient Kitium is the birthplace of Zeno, a fourth century
Stoic philosopher. The site consists of the ruins of Kitium's walls. It also
contains the ruins of approximately five temples.
Larnaca has a varied mix of bars, cafeterias, restaurants, and tavernas, offering
a plethora of international cuisine. The city also has a theatre and art gallery.
Of interest also is the Larnaca Fort. It's at the end of the seafront promenade.
Built in 1625, it contains cannons, suits of armour, and more historical items.
The Fort is a venue for concerts and other special events in the summer.
Planning a Cyprus holiday builds anticipation for your overall trip. Cheap
Cyprus holidays are yours for the taking when you shop around. In no time, you
will be soaking up that Mediterranean sun enjoying the great weather
in Cyprus and trekking across prime beachfront property with seawater swirling
at your feet. Cyprus holidays offer all of this and more to those who choose
to explore the island's charms.
